Word Family Emergent Readers

We are working on learning the sight words "an" and "at".  So I created these two emergent readers to introduce word families.

The pictures are: hat, bat, rat, cat, sat.  The students practice writing the word "at" and deciding which letter needs to be in front of "at".  The students cut on the dotted lines and then I help staple them together to create a reader.

And here is a look at practicing the "an" family.  The pictures are: pan, fan, man, can, ran.  The kids enjoy these because they are very simple to make.
